Klaveness continue growing its Dry Bulk activities

Improving the nature of shipping

Some media sources have misinterpreted the sale of Kamsarmax vessel MV Bavang to mean that Klaveness is exiting the dry bulk shipping business. This is not correct and the reality is that we are growing.

The sale was related only to asset management and not the commercial activities in the Dry Bulk market. Our ability to serve customers is not limited to the vessels we own. In fact, Klaveness has grown its fleet from 80 to 130 dry bulk vessels from 2011 to 2016.

Klaveness has also increased its global network and is currently present in Singapore, Shanghai, Manila, South Africa, Brazil and Oslo.

For any company to survive in this industry, one needs to be able to serve customers through cycles. That is why Klaveness acts both as an owner, operator and pool manager of Dry Bulk tonnage.

Dry Bulk has been the focal business area for Klaveness for 70 years and we are strongly committed to continue serving the Dry Bulk industry as both service provider and operator for another 70 years – at the least.
