KLAVENESS SHIP MANAGEMENT

Providing technical and commercial ship management services

Over 75 years of ship management experience

Klaveness Ship Management (KSM) is exclusively responsible for operating the combination carrier vessels of Klaveness Combination Carriers (KCC). Unlike standard dry bulk vessels and chemical tankers, which typically transport either dry or wet cargoes, the combination carriers do both. This demands a specialist approach.

In addition, KSM has broad competence and experience from operating container vessels, dry bulk vessels, chemical tankers, and petroleum product tankers.

Manpower Development Program

Our sea staff consists of cadets, apprentices, trainees, officers and ratings recruited from our manning offices in The Philippines, Romania, and South Africa. All cadets go through the same recruitment and selection process. This includes ability profiling and individual interviews with our staff.

Cadets from the Philippines are recruited through the Norwegian Shipowners Association’s program, while our cadets from Romania and South Africa are recruited through our manning offices in Romania and South Africa.

Our ‘Manpower Development Program’ recruits and trains our future ratings. They undergo a training program at school and in operational ports prior to embarking as deck and engine personnel.

The trainees are recruited through referrals, or from less fortunate areas in The Philippines and South Africa in order to contribute to enhancing social welfare in those areas.
