About Us
Klaveness Dry Bulk (KDB) is a leading digital operator, pool manager, trader and service provider in the dry bulk market operating from offices in Oslo, Singapore, Dubai, Tokyo, and Manila. We take data driven positions in the dry bulk freight market and enable other maritime professionals to minimize risk and maximize operational efficiency through our AI-powered Market Manager platform.

About the role
Situated in Marunouchi, Tokyo, you will play an important role in building KDB’s activities in Japan and the wider Pacific market.

Main responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to build and optimize the Panamax portfolio.

  • Sourcing, analysing and executing time charter in/out opportunities, including independent handling of voyage estimations and charter party negotiations.

  • Coordinating with Operations team in voyage optimization and providing outstanding service to clients.

  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with charterers, owners, brokers and other relevant counterparts.

  • Identifying and exploring new trading strategies that complement or build on existing ones.

  • Providing timely market feedback and formulating opinions on the market for the team.

Qualifications:

  • More than 3 years of experience in dry bulk chartering or related fields

  • Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills

  • Fluent in English and Japanese language
