Ernst Meyer appointed Torvald Klaveness CEO from April 1st, 2022

Oslo, 14th January 2022: Torvald Klaveness today announces that Ernst Meyer, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of Klaveness Ship Management, will succeed Lasse Kristoffersen as President and Chief Executive Officer of Torvald Klaveness from April 1st, 2022.

Meyer has been with Torvald Klaveness in 2019 in the roles of Chief Operations Officer and Managing Director for Klaveness Ship Management, having previously spent close to 20 years with Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in various executive positions. He holds a Master of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

About Meyer

Meyer has been with Torvald Klaveness in 2019 in the roles of Chief Operations Officer and Managing Director for Klaveness Ship Management. In January 2022, he was appointed new Chief Executive Officer for Torvald Klaveness.

Prior to joining Torvald Klaveness, Meyer worked 20 years for Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in various executive positions. He was Executive Vice President and Regional Head of DNV South East Asia with headquarters in Singapore before he became EVP and Global Director for DNV’s Offshore Classification business. Meyer did also work for DNV Consulting USA in his early years in DNV.  Before joining DNV he worked as Project Engineer for Statoil Shipping/Navion where he worked on several newbuilding projects.

He holds a Master of Sciences in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim. In addition, he as attended IMD’ Executive Management Programme and INSEAD M&A and Corporate Strategy Programme.
